We are currently looking for a part-time Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining all financial processes and transactions of the organization.  The position is part-time, flexible (25 hrs/week, M-Th). 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize QuickBooks to track and manage all financial transactions
  • Manage all aspects of School on Wheels’ general ledger, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets and depreciation schedule, A/R & A/P and accruals
  • Prepare detailed monthly compiled financial statements and report to board of directors finance committee
  • Prepare annual cash projection and update weekly cash logs
  • Work with COO to prepare the annual budget
  • Schedule and lead monthly conference calls with the finance committee
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Maintain accounts payable and pay bills bi-weekly
  • Work alongside independent CPA firm and assist with annual review, Form 990 and property tax return
  • Assist with grant reporting and budgets
  • Manage credit card processing for revenue and oversee credit card usage for expenses
  • Reconcile accounting records to development database alongside development staff; Prepare invoices for various campaigns as needed
  • Oversee HR function, including processing bi-weekly payroll and all payroll taxes (monthly, quarterly and annual) and managing benefits, timesheets, PTO requests, and personnel records.
  • Provide support to the CEO and COO
  • Provide support to all staff as it relates to office operations
  • Process new hire paperwork and assist with onboarding
  • Manage vendor and bank relationships
  • Assist with special events, including logistics and silent auction
  • Perform basic office functions such as processing mail, faxes, answering multi-line telephone system,  and ordering office supplies
  • Administer meeting notices and reports as requested by the CEO, Vice President and Board of Directors

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and flexible
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage confidential information
