Mission & Vision

The Mission: To provide one-on-one tutoring and educational advocacy for school-aged children impacted by homelessness.

The Vision: To equip children impacted by homelessness with the educational tools necessary to achieve success in life and break the cycle of homelessness.

During the first 10 years, School on Wheels:

  • Provided tutoring at 12 locations (10 shelters & 2 schools)
  • Trained over 1,700 community volunteers
  • Provided tutoring to 3,299 school-aged homeless children
  • Provided 33,889 hours of tutoring
  • Distributed 1,560 backpacks filled with school supplies to homeless children
  • Distributed 8,151 school uniforms to homeless children
