Shalyn Getz, Americorps*VISTA Program Development Specialist, a Joppa, MD native, joined us in June 2011, shortly after graduating from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a minor in Sociology. During her year of service, she will be working closely with our staff to improve and expand our volunteer programming. She is super-excited to serve with SOW this year, because it will prepare her for her goals of becoming a kindergarten teacher and eventually becoming involved with educational policy in an effort to eradicate educational inequality.
