Partner Agencies

School on Wheels is proud to partner with the following organizations to provide educational tutoring to homeless children: 

Barton Center
The Barton Center is a transitional housing complex for families emerging from homelessness started by the Salvation Army.  The center provides low-cost rental units and supportive services to families and individuals.

Dayspring Center
Dayspring Center is one of the largest family shelters in Indianapolis and a valuable partner with School on Wheels. 

Coburn Place
Coburn Place is a transitional living facility for women and children who have experienced domestic violence. 

Holy Family Shelter
Holy Family Shelter is run by Catholic Charities of Indianapolis and it houses more homeless families each year than any other shelter in the city.

Holy Family Transitional Housing
Holy Family Transitional is run by Catholic Charities of Indianapolis and is a transitional housing facility that provides low-cost rental units and supportive services to families who are emerging from homelessness.

Indianapolis Public School # 14
School 14 is the first non-shelter location where School on Wheels provides tutoring. It is the only IPS school that has an on-site homeless coordinator to address the specific educational needs of homeless children who attend the school.

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
IHN is a conglomeration of different churches that band together each evening to house the homeless.  The families of IHN travel between different churches, moving everything they own weekly when the host congregation changes. IHN operates a day facility to provide food and services to homeless families during the day prior to the evening rotations at area churches.


Salvation Army Social Service Center Programs
Salvation Army Social Service Center is a facility that houses women and children and provides daily support and follow-up services. The Salvation Army Social Service Center also operates a facility that caters to the specific needs of women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

Wellspring Cottage
Wellspring Cottage is a transitional housing facility that provides low-cost rental units and supportive services to families who are emerging from homelessness. Wellspring is a facility operated by Dayspring Center.


Wheeler Mission Center for Women and Children
Care Center is a facility operated by Wheeler Mission and provides emergency shelter focusing on the specific needs of homeless women and children.


W.I.N.G.S.
W.I.N.G.S. is a program designed to assist victims of domestic violence.  It provides emergency shelter for women and their children as they advance towards independence.
