Urgent Needs

It takes a lot of ‘stuff’ and ‘skills’ to meet the needs of our kids! Here’s the latest – but come back often as it changes regularly!

Please note: We are not currently accepting books (besides those listed below) as our library is fully stocked! Here’s what we DO need…

LIBRARY NEEDS: As School on Wheels serves school-aged children kindergarten through 12th grade, we are unable to utilize board books (intended for younger children) in our program. Please consider donating new and gently used board books to our partner in literacy, Indy Reads. Additionally, many shelter partners are in need of books for younger children and accept donations directly. We gladly accept and appreciate books geared towards school-aged children. Key books of interest for School on Wheels students include:

• Books from the Drama High, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
• Dr. SeussCurious George, and Clifford books.
• Phonics book boxed sets to serve younger students.
• Books about Dora, Sonic, Power Rangers, Spongebob, princesses, superheroes, sports, and cars.

GIFT CARDS: Used to purchase specific items in times of need. Amex, Visa, MasterCard, Kohls, Target, Wal-Mart, United Art and Education, and Staples are most applicable to the needs at our tutoring locations.

If you are interested in donating any of these items or collecting them please contact Kris Hurst via email or call 317.202.9100. Or, donate online now and offset their cost!
